Services
IS Psychology offers therapy sessions in person or via Telehealth (video), depending on your needs.
People seek therapy for a variety of reasons.
Understanding yourself & exploring your inner world
The most enduring, and arguably the most important relationship we have is with ourselves. Building insight and the ability to reflect on our own experience is key to wellbeing. Psychology can allow us to explore ourselves in greater depth.
Improving communication & relationships
Our ability to form healthy relationships is directly related to our wellbeing. Psychology can help us to understand our emotions and how to communicate them in more effective ways.
Changing unhelpful behaviours
Psychology can provide insight and skills to help manage triggers and patterns of thinking and feeling that lead to unhelpful behaviours. This may include addictions or common behaviours such as procrastination. Understanding the root cause of these behaviours can help us to change them.
Managing life stressors
Life stressors can tip the balance in our ability to cope. Common stressors may include financial difficulties, work stress, parenting and health issues. Psychology can provide emotional support during difficult times and where appropriate better ways of coping with stressors.
Treating mental health difficulties & conditions
Psychology provides evidence based treatment of diagnosable mental health conditions. Psychology can also help improve conditions that may not be diagnosable but cause distress, such as low self esteem.
Improving performance & working towards goals
Psychology can provide insight and skills that may assist in working towards goals and overcoming obstacles to optimal performance.
